Scheme of Examination: SSC Hindi Translator

The SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2024 (SSC CHTE 2024) will consist of two papers as detailed below:

Key Points

  1. Paper-I (Objective Type):

    • Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Normalization: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized using the formula published by SSC. Normalized scores will determine final merit and cut-off marks.
    • Answer Keys: Tentative answer keys will be posted on the SSC website after the examination. Candidates can submit online representations against answer keys at a fee of Rs. 100/- per question, which is non-refundable. Representations via other methods (letter, email, etc.) will not be entertained.
  2. Paper-II (Descriptive):

    • Content: Translation and Essay writing.
    • Instructions:
      • Write Roll Number on the cover page of the Answer Book.
      • Affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the specified columns.
      • Applications not adhering to these instructions will be awarded zero marks.
      • Personal identifiers (name, mobile number, etc.) inside the Answer Book will be considered as Unfair Means (UFM), resulting in zero marks even if answers are correct.
  3. Other Details:

    • Schedule: The exam schedule is tentative. Any changes will be communicated through the SSC website.
    • No Re-evaluation: There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. No correspondence will be entertained regarding re-evaluation.

How to Apply for SSC Hindi Translator Recruitment?

Application Process

  1. Submission Method:

    • Applications must be submitted online only via the new SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in.
    • Detailed instructions are provided in Annexure-III and Annexure-IV of the notification.
    • Sample proformas of One-time Registration (OTR) and online application forms are in Annexure-IIIA and Annexure-IVA.
  2. One-Time Registration (OTR):

    • Candidates must generate a new OTR on the new SSC website. OTRs from the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) are not valid.
    • Once generated, the OTR will be valid for all future SSC examinations on the new website.
    • Instructions for OTR are in Annexure-III.
  3. Photograph Capture:

    • No pre-existing photograph needed: The application module captures the photograph.
    • Instructions for Photograph:
      • Find a well-lit place with a plain background.
      • Ensure the camera is at eye level.
      • Position yourself directly in front of the camera and look straight ahead.
      • Ensure your face is fully within the red rectangular area, not too close or too far.
      • Do not wear a cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles while capturing the photo.
    • Photograph Appearance: The photograph must match the appearance on the day of the examination. Applications with inappropriate photographs will be rejected.
  4. Signature Upload:

    • Upload a scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10 to 20 KB).
    • Signature dimensions: 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
    • Applications with inappropriate or blurred/miniature signatures will be rejected.
  5. Submission Deadline:

    • Online Application Deadline: 25 August 2024, 23:00 hours.
    • Submit applications well before the closing date to avoid issues due to high website traffic.
  6. Application Form Preview:

    • Before final submission, use the Preview/Print option to check that all details are correct and that the photograph and signature meet the requirements.
    • Keep a copy of the completed application form.

Application Fee

  1. Fee Amount:

    • Rs. 100/- (One hundred rupees only).
  2. Exemptions:

    • Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempt from paying the fee.
  3. Payment Modes:

    • Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
    • Online Fee Payment Deadline: 26 August 2024, 23:00 hours.
  4. Fee Payment Verification:

    • Ensure the transaction is complete. Incomplete applications due to non-receipt of fee will be summarily rejected.
    • Verify payment status via the ‘Payment Status’ link on your login screen.
  5. Refund Policy:

    • The fee once paid is non-refundable and will not be adjusted against any other examination or selection.
