RRB Paramedical Staff Selection Process

Application Requirements:

  • Single Online Application: Candidates are required to submit only one online application, simplifying the process and avoiding duplication.

Computer-Based Test (CBT):

  • Purpose: The CBT assesses the candidate’s suitability for various notified categories.
  • Additional CBTs: The RRB can conduct additional CBTs if deemed necessary for all or specific candidates, ensuring comprehensive evaluation.
  • Duration and Accessibility:
    • Standard Candidates: 90 minutes for 100 questions.
    • PwBD Candidates: 120 minutes with the scribe facility to ensure equal opportunity.
  • Format: Objective multiple-choice questions with four options per question, only one of which is correct. This format ensures clear, unambiguous assessment of candidate knowledge.

  • Original Documents: Candidates must present original certificates during verification. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of candidacy, emphasizing the importance of thorough documentation.

Medical and Final Verification

Requirements:

  • Medical Fitness: Candidates must pass a Medical Fitness Test conducted by Railway Administration, ensuring they meet the health standards required for the role.
  • Final Verification: Includes verification of educational qualifications, community certificates, and character/antecedents, ensuring all credentials and background checks are completed.

Appointment Process

Procedure:

  • Empanelment: RRBs recommend successful candidates to Zonal Railways/Production Units based on merit.
  • Appointment: Final appointments are made by the Principal Chief Personnel Officer, who is responsible for the administrative aspects of recruitment.

Additional Instructions

Guidelines:

  • Prohibited Items: Calculators, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are banned to prevent cheating and maintain exam integrity.
  • Downloading Requirements: Candidates must download necessary documents (e.g., e-call letters) from official RRB websites to ensure they have all required information for the exam.
  • Normalization of Marks: If the CBT is conducted in multiple sessions, marks will be normalized to ensure fairness across different test sessions.

Merit Determination

Tie-Breaker Rule:

  • Age Criterion: In case of a tie in scores, older candidates are given higher merit. This rule prioritizes experience and seniority, which is a fair way to break ties.

How to Apply for CEN No. 04/2024 (RRB Para-Medical Recruitment 2024)

1. Read Instructions Carefully

  • Before Applying: Thoroughly read all information and instructions to avoid mistakes during the application process.

2. Create an Account

  • Account Creation:
    • Visit the official RRB websites (see list below).
    • Click on the link to ‘Create an Account’.
    • Ensure you have an active personal mobile number and valid email ID for receiving OTPs.
    • Note: Details filled in the ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) cannot be changed later. If you have already created an account for CENs in 2024, use the same credentials for CEN No. 04/2024.

3. Submit Application

  • Application Rules:
    • Apply to only one RRB and submit one common ONLINE application for all notified posts you are eligible and interested in.
    • Submit applications only through the official RRB websites.
    • Important: Applying to multiple RRBs for the same posts will result in the rejection of all applications for those posts and debarment.

4. Scribe for PwBD Candidates

  • Eligibility: Only candidates with:
    • Visually Impairment (VI)

    • Writing speed affected by Cerebral Palsy/muscular dystrophy

    • Locomotor disability (one arm)

    • Intellectual disabilities (Autism, specific learning disabilities, mental illness)

    • Scribe Details: If eligible and using a scribe, provide details such as:

      • Name
      • Father’s name
      • Educational qualification
    • The scribe should not be a candidate for the same CEN and should not be engaged for more than one candidate.

    • Scribe Photograph: Upload a recent passport-sized photograph of the scribe in JPEG format (30 to 70 KB).

5. Prepare Scanned Documents
