RBI Grade ‘B’ Officers Recruitment 2024

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the recruitment of Grade ‘B’ officers with 94 vacancies across various departments. Interested candidates can apply online starting from July 25, 2024, until August 16, 2024. The Phase-I online examination will be held on September 08, 2024, for General, and on September 14, 2024, for DEPR and DSIM. The Phase-II examination for General will take place on October 19, 2024. Application Fee and Intimation Charges for RBI Grade ‘B’ 2024

  • Bank/Transaction charges are to be borne by the candidate.
  • GST (Goods and Services Tax) at the rate of 18% is applicable on the fees.

@ Fee/Intimation charges waiver is applicable only for RBI staff candidates who meet the eligibility criteria specified by RBI’s circulars. Their status as staff candidates will be verified at the time of the Interview. If they do not qualify as staff candidates as per RBI’s circulars, they should apply as non-staff candidates and pay the fees/intimation charges applicable to non-staff candidates.

Eligibility Conditions for RBI Grade ‘B’ Officers

I. Age Limit (As on July 01, 2024)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Candidates must have been born between July 02, 1994, and July 01, 2003.

II. Minimum Educational Qualifications (As on July 01, 2024)

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – General:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or
  • Post-graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research):

  • Essential:
    • Master’s degree in Economics or Finance with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants).
  • Desirable:
    • Doctorate degree in Economics, or research/teaching experience in Economics, or publications in standard journals.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM (Department of Statistics and Information Management):

  • Essential:
    • Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics/Applied Statistics & Informatics with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants), or
    • Master’s degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed institute, or
    • Master’s Degree in Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Big Data Analytics with a minimum of 55% marks, or
    • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science/AI/ML/Big Data Analytics with a minimum of 60% marks, or
    • Two years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Desirable:
    • Doctorate in related subjects, research/teaching experience, and publication in standard journals.

Notes on Age Relaxation and Qualifications:

  • Candidates with M.Phil. or Ph.D. degrees may receive up to 4 years and 2 years of age relaxation, respectively.
  • Research/teaching experience at recognized institutions may provide additional age relaxation up to 3 years.
  • These relaxations do not accumulate with other category-based age relaxations.

 Pay Scale and Allowances

Selected candidates for RBI Grade ‘B’ Officers will be placed in the following pay scale:

  • Starting Basic Pay: ₹55,200/- per month
  • Pay Scale: ₹55,200 – 2850(9) – 80,850 – EB – 2850(2) – 86,550 – 3300(4) – 99,750 (16 years)

In addition to the basic pay, officers will also be eligible for various allowances:

  • Special Allowance

Note on Increments

  • Advance Increments: Candidates with very high academic or professional qualifications/experience of significant value to the Bank may be considered for up to four advance increments.
  • Higher Emoluments: The Bank may, at its discretion, consider requests for higher emoluments at the Interview stage based on higher qualifications/special experience. Such requests should be indicated in the Bio-data Form. The maximum number of increments considered in such cases will be four.

A. Pre-requisites for Applying Online

Handwritten Declaration: RBI Grade ‘B’ Officers

The text for the handwritten declaration that candidates need to write is:

“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

  1. Language and Handwriting: The declaration must be written in English by the candidate in their own handwriting. It should not be written by anyone else.

  • Handwritten Declaration: In English, on white paper with black ink, size between 50kb – 100kb.
