PM Vishwakarma Yojana : Eligibility, Benefits & Apply Online
PM Vishwakarma is a Central Sector Scheme launched by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to provide holistic and end- to-end support to artisans and crafts people through access to collateral free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentive for digital transactions and market linkage support.

What is the Objective of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana?
PM Vishwakarma is a new scheme and envisages to provide end-to- end holistic support to the traditional artisans and craftspeople in scaling up of their conventional products and services. The objectives of the scheme are as given below:
- Recognition – To enable the recognition of artisans and craftspeople as Vishwakarma, making them eligible to avail all the benefits under the Scheme.
- Skill Upgradation – To provide skill upgradation to hone their skills and make relevant and suitable training opportunities available to them.
- Support – To provide support for better and modern tools to enhance their capability, productivity, and quality of products and services.
- Easy Access – To provide the beneficiaries an easy access to collateral free credit and reduce the cost of credit by providing interest subvention.
- Digital Empowerment – To provide incentives for digital transactions to encourage digital empowerment of Vishwakarmas.
- Marketing Support – To provide a platform for brand promotion and market linkages to help them access new opportunities for growth.
6 Benifits under PM Vishwakarma Yojana
PM Vishwakarma is a holistic scheme that aims to provide last-mile support to artisans and craftsmen through the following components:
1. Recognition: PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card
Artisans and craftsmen will get PM Vishwakarma certificate and PM Vishwakarma ID card. A unique digital number will be created and will be indicated on the certificate and ID card.
The certificate will recognize the applicant as Vishwakarma and make him eligible to avail all the benefits under the scheme. PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card will be provided to the beneficiaries in digital form as well as in physical form.
2. Skill Upgradation
The skill intervention under PM Vishwakarma aims to enhance the capabilities of traditional artisans and craftsmen who have been working with hands and traditional tools for generations. The intervention consists of three components given below :
- Skill Assessment,
- Basic Training
- Advanced Training.
Skill upgradation will include modern tools, design elements and integration with the sector value chain as key components of domain skills. Apart from domain skills, skill upgradation will also cover aspects that will enable Vishwakarmas to access other facilities of the scheme, including use of toolkits, marketing support, enterprise creation and expansion through credit, and benefits of digital transactions.
3. Toolkit Incentive
- A toolkit incentive of upto Rs. 15,000 will be provided to the beneficiary after Skill Assessment at the start of Basic Training. The incentive will be disbursed to the beneficiaries through e-RUPI/ e-vouchers which can be utilized at designated centres to procure improved toolkits.
- A digital guide and short video tutorials will be provided to Vishwakarmas to familiarize and enable them in skillful handling of the modern tools in their trades. The improved toolkits will enable the Vishwakarmas to enhance their quality and production levels resulting in higher productivity and value for their products.
4. Credit Support
To enhance and support the capabilities of traditional artisans and craftspeople, access to affordable credit under this Scheme will be facilitated. The beneficiary must have undergone Skill Assessment and completed Basic Training to be eligible to avail first tranche of credit support of upto Rs 1 lakh under the Scheme.
The aim of this component is to provide the Vishwakarmas with easy access to subsidized institutional credit for enterprise development through the following interventions:
- Collateral free enterprise development loan – Rs 1 lakh (1st tranche for 18 months repayment) and Rs 2 lakh (2nd tranche for 30 months repayment)
- Concessional Interest Rate – 5% will be charged from the beneficiary, interest subvention limit will be 8% which will be paid by MOMSME
- Credit Guarantee fee will be borne by Government of India
5. Incentive for Digital Transactions
The scheme aims to digitally empower the beneficiaries by facilitating them in adopting digital transactions. An amount of Rs. 1 on every eligible digital transaction (maximum 100 eligible transactions monthly) will be credited to the beneficiary’s bank account in DBT mode through Aadhaar Payment Bridge System (APBS). Here, eligible transaction means digital payment or receipt in the beneficiary’s bank account.
The scheme aims to incentivize digital transactions by artisans and craftsmen through cashback. The online transaction avenue thus created is expected to enhance the credit score of skilled workers, thereby meeting their future loan requirements. This incentive is an attempt to promote a new digital culture among Vishwakarmas with regard to adoption of digital payment ecosystem.
6. Marketing Support
National Marketing Committee (NCM) will provide services like quality certification, branding and promotion, e-commerce linkage, trade fairs advertising, publicity and other marketing activities.
Eligibility Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Yojana
To be eligible to benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Occupation: The applicant must be an artisan or craftsman engaged in any one of the 18 family-based traditional occupations specified in the scheme. These occupations involve working with hands and tools and are typically in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis.
Age: The minimum age of the beneficiary should be 18 years at the time of registration under the scheme.
Current Engagement: The beneficiary should be actively engaged in the relevant trade at the time of registration.
Loan History: The applicant should not have availed of loans under similar loan-based schemes of the Central Government or State Government for self-employment or business development in the last 5 years. Examples of such schemes include PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme), PM SVANidhi, and Mudra.
Family Limitation: Registration and benefits under the scheme are limited to one member per family. A ‘family’ is defined as comprising of the husband, wife, and unmarried children.
Exclusion: Individuals currently employed in government services and their family members are not eligible to participate in the scheme.
These eligibility criteria ensure that the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana are targeted towards traditional artisans and craftspeople who are actively involved in their trade and have not recently accessed similar government support programs.

How to Register for PM Vishwakarma Yojana @pmvishwakarma.gov.in
To register for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, follow these steps:
Visit Common Service Centre (CSC):
- Locate your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC). These are typically available in rural areas and can also be found in urban locations.
- Approach the CSC and request them to assist you in registering for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
Mobile and Aadhaar Verification:
- Complete mobile verification to ensure your contact details are correct and accessible.
- Conduct Aadhaar e-KYC (Know Your Customer) to verify your identity electronically using your Aadhaar card.
Artisan Registration Form:
