Primary Teacher (PRT) Recruitment – Detailed Qualifications and Criteria

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Option 1: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
    • Option 2: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
    • Option 3: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.).
    • Option 4: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
    • Option 5: B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  2. Additional Requirements:

    • HTET/STET Certificate: Must have qualified Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) or School Teachers Eligibility Test (STET).
    • Language Requirement: Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.
  3. Note:

    • Diplomas or certificates from other states or universities will be recognized only if validated by Haryana Government.
    • Only NCTE-recognized teacher education courses will be considered. For Special Education, recognition by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is required.
    • Higher academic or professional qualifications are not eligible unless the minimum qualifications including HTET are met.
    • Relaxation of 5% in marks for SC/BC/Differently-abled candidates.
  4. Preference:

    • Candidates with knowledge of URDU up to Matriculation/Middle Standard will be given preference for Mewat postings.
  5. Validity of HTET/STET:

    • STET/HTET certificates valid for a lifetime. Expired certificates as of 06.08.2024 are considered valid for this advertisement.

1. Selection Criteria:

  • Judicial Update: As per the Hon’ble High Court Judgement dated 31.05.2024 in LPA No. 1037/2023, the weightage of socio-economic marks has been removed.
  • Government Letter Update: As per Govt. Letter No. 42/02/2018-5GS-I dated 25.03.2022, the selection will be based solely on the written examination.

2. Examination Details:

  • Examination Type: Offline, OMR-based.
  • Language of Question Paper: Bilingual (English & Hindi).
  • Number of Questions: 100 questions.
  • Marks per Question: Each question carries 0.95 marks.
  • Total Marks for Written Examination: 95 marks.

3. Examination Instructions:

  • Compulsory Questions: All questions are mandatory; candidates must attempt every question.
  • Answering Method: Each question has five options. Candidates must choose one option. If no option is marked, 0.95 marks will be deducted for each un-attempted question.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
