AAI Junior Assistant Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit 2024

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released the eligibility criteria and age limit details for the Junior Assistant position in 2024. Below is the breakdown of key requirements, including age, educational qualifications, physical fitness, and other essential criteria.

1. Age Criteria for AAI Junior Assistant 2024

The candidates’ age should be between 18 to 30 years as on 01/11/2024. The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation
  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Length of service will be extended by 3 years.
    • Additional relaxation for ESM as per Government of India guidelines.
  • Regular AAI Employees:
    • 10 years relaxation for candidates in regular service.
    • Additional relaxation for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years) candidates.
  • Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially Separated:
    • Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST and 38 years for OBC), subject to documentation.
  • Ex-Agniveers:
    • 3 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
    • 5 years relaxation for the first batch of Agnipath Scheme candidates.

Note: The date of birth will be taken from the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate only. No subsequent requests for date of birth changes will be entertained.

2. Educational Qualification for AAI Junior Assistant 2024

Candidates must meet one of the following educational qualifications:

  • Option 1: 10th Pass + 3 years approved regular Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Fire.
  • Option 2: 12th Pass (Regular Study).

3. Driving License Requirements

To be eligible for the Junior Assistant position, candidates must possess one of the following valid driving licenses:

  • Heavy Vehicle License
  • Medium Vehicle License (issued at least 1 year before 01/11/2024)
  • Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) License (issued at least 2 years before 01/11/2024)

For those holding Medium Vehicle or LMV licenses, obtaining a Heavy Duty Driving License within 1 year of appointment is mandatory. If not obtained within the stipulated time, the candidate’s probation period will be extended by 1 year. Failure to obtain the Heavy Duty License will lead to the termination of service.

Note: Temporary/learning licenses are not accepted.

4. Physical Fitness Requirements

For Men:

  • Height: Minimum 167 cm
  • Chest: Normal 81 cm (Minimum expansion of 5 cm)
  • Weight: Minimum 55 kg

For Women:

  • Height: Minimum 157 cm
  • Weight: Minimum 45 kg

Relaxation:

  • 3 cm height and chest expansion relaxation for hilly area candidates.
  • No relaxation for other categories.

General Physical Criteria:

  • Eyesight: 6/6 in both eyes without glasses; N-5 for near vision.
  • Color Vision: Must be normal as per Ishihara’s charts.
  • Night Blindness: Absent.
  • Hearing and Speech: Must be normal.
  • Physical Deformities: Candidates with knock knees, bow legs, or any physical deformities are disqualified.

5. Disqualifications

Candidates suffering from chronic diseases, physical impairments, or conditions such as flat feet or having undergone major surgeries impairing their physical fitness for fire service will be disqualified.
