What is Madhya Pradesh CM Ladli Behna Yojana?
On January 28, 2023, the Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh announced the implementation of the “Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana” throughout Madhya Pradesh. This will be a significant step toward improving women’s health and nutrition, as well as their economic independence.
The scheme’s implementation will not only improve the health and nutritional status of women and their dependent children, but women will also be more financially independent than before, allowing them to spend according to their priorities. With the financial assistance received, women will be able to develop self-employment/livelihood resources using locally available resources, as well as play an effective role in family decision-making.

Purpose of Ladli Behna
- To maintain self-reliance of women and sustainable improvement in the health and nutritional levels of their dependent children.
- Making women more financially independent.
- Encouraging women’s effective role in decision making at the family level.
Financial Benefits
- An amount of Rs.1000/- per month will be paid to each eligible woman in her eligibility period in the own Aadhaar linked DBT enabled bank account.
- If a woman is below the age of 60 years and already receiving less than Rs. 1000/- per month under any other Social Security Pension Scheme, then that woman will be reimbursed up to Rs. 1000/-.
Benefits of Ladli Behna Yojana
- As a result of economic empowerment of women, they will be able to pay special attention to their nutrition with the money received, due to which women will be able to reach the standard level of body mass index and the level of anemia among women will also improve.
- Economic empowerment of women will improve the health and nutrition level of the children dependent on them.
- Women’s labour force participation will increase and their decisive role in the family will be strengthened.
- Women will be financially more independent than before to spend as per their priorities and develop resources for self-employment/livelihood.
Eligibility Criteria
Under CM Ladli Behna Yojana, such categories of women will be included who –
- Be a local resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- Be married, which will also include widows, divorced and abandoned women.
- Must have completed 21 years of age as on 01 January of the calendar year of application and must be below 60 years of age.
Who is not eligible for Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana.
Under CM Ladli Behna Yojana, such category of women will not be included who –
- Whose self/family’s combined self-declared annual income is more than Rs 2.5 lakh .
- Whose self/any member of the family is an income tax payer .
- Whose own/any member of the family is employed as regular/permanent employee/contractual employee in the Government Department/Undertaking/Board/Local Body of the Government of India or State Government or is receiving pension after retirement.
- Who herself is receiving an amount of Rs. 1250/- or more per month under any scheme of the Government of India/State Government.
- Whose own/family member is a present or former MP/MLA .
- Whose own/any member of the family is the Chairman/Director/Member of any Board/Corporation/Board/Undertaking selected/nominated by the Government of India or the State Government.
- Whose own/any family member is an elected public representative in the local bodies (except Panch and Deputy Sarpanch).
- Who himself / his family members jointly own agricultural land of more than five acres .
- Those who have a four wheeler (except tractor) registered in their own / in the name of their family members .

- Family and Family members Samgra ID.
- Aadhaar Card.
- Registered Mobile number on Samgra Portal.

- Applicants have to fill out the application form with the photograph.
